Altitude 1 200 m - All the charm of a traditional Savoyard hamlet nestling in an unspoiled setting at the entrance to the Vanoise National Park.
In summer, it is a real pleasure to wander through the little streets of Champagny-en-Vanoise, a charming traditional village perched on the mountainside. The south-facing site enjoys maximum sunshine which makes the village even more charming, with its baroque church and small streets with chapels and oratories. After going for a hike from the classified site of Champagny-le-Haut, a tour of the Espace Glacialis is a must to find out all about the glaciers, with creative workshops for children. The trails take you to an unspoiled mountain environment inhabited by wild flora and fauna. You only need to look up to spot marmots, ibex or bearded vultures. Champagny in summer also offers concerts and original events, not forgetting the outdoor swimming pool in a lush green setting surrounded by bright mountain scenery. Walking and fishing enthusiasts will also appreciate the lake.
In winter, thanks to its comfortable gondola, the traditional village of Champagny-en-Vanoise is linked to the Paradiski® area, guaranteeing excellent snow conditions for skiers. The site also has two children’s ski gardens. Another considerable asset for a great holiday is its swimming pool with a spa, a wellness area and a paddling pool for little ones. Then, further up and a few hairpin bends on from the main village is the unspoiled valley of Champagny-le-Haut. A real postcard setting that offers a range of Nordic activities: cross-country skiing, sledging, ice climbing on France’s one and only ice tower(!), hiking on foot or on snowshoes, ski joëring, dog sledding, hot-air ballooning and a sculpted ice grotto. A tour of the Espace Glacialis is a must if you want to find out all about the history of the region’s glaciers. When it comes to choosing where to stay, there are some attractive, family-friendly hotels and a wide range of residences dotted throughout the village.
