Altitude 1 800 m to 2 050 m – Right at the top, a constellation of 7 villages with a variety of complementary atmospheres in the heart of the ski area awaits you, for direct access to all the fun of the mountains.
In winter, as you drive up to La Plagne, when your field of vision finally emerges from the forest, the typical Alpine panorama strikes you with its beauty and openness to the sky and the mountain slopes that are perfect for skiing. As you drive past La Roche, you will see France’s only bobsleigh track, lit up in the evening and open to tourists so that adrenalin freaks can enjoy a descent! At the edge of one of the largest high-mountain areas in the world, the altitude sector consists of 7 villages (Plagne 1800, Plagne Centre, Plagne Soleil, Plagne Villages, Plagne Aime 2000, Plagne Bellecôte and Belle Plagne), offering a wide range of hotels, apartments and residences. All the villages are connected by a free shuttle bus service. The only thing they all have in common, apart from the famous red woolly hat, is their direct access to the mountain for the greater pleasure of all those who love winter sports and nature. The icing on the cake (white, of course) is the wide-ranging catalogue of activities for all tastes: ice rinks, dog sledding, paragliding (with a few aerobatics thrown in for the less faint-hearted!), snow biking, ziplines, snowshoe hikes in unspoiled natural surroundings, sledging or a night in a snow groomer, as well as indoor or outdoor wellness activities …
In summer, the 7 altitude villages (Plagne 1800, Plagne Centre, Plagne Soleil, Plagne Villages, Plagne Aime 2000, Plagne Bellecôte and Belle Plagne, all connected by a free bus service) come alive with outdoor activities and the sound of marmots whistling. Each village is characterised by its own individual atmosphere and a unique range of shops and services. The trails for hiking, biking or e-biking offer an unlimited area for those in search of freedom, whether they are on a solo holiday, with their loved one or with the whole tribe. From the youngest to the oldest, everyone will find their own favourite activity: zip lines, canopy trails, bouncy castles, tennis, mini-golf, swimming pools, outdoor spas, multi-activity courses … The high point remains the glacier, more than 3 000 m above sea level, accessible on foot or in the gondola. From all the way up there, you can enjoy a spectacular 360° view of the Savoyard massifs, including the majestic Mont-Blanc.
